Kindness Begets Kindness

You don't have to be cruel to be unkind 
You just have to be cowardly enough 
To take the easy way out when things get hard
And hard to find when things get tough 

You don't have to be heartless to break a heart 
But only a fool makes someone feel foolish
Or hurts a generous soul
By being thoughtless or selfish

But with a little courage you might find
That it's not that difficult to be nice
And, because kindness begets kindness 
It requires no sacrifice
