Dear friends,
Stepping back from politics a bit has given me time to pursue other interests. In addition to poetry, I find myself going down a bit of an Astrology rabbit hole lately. After learning just how dysfunctional and destructive the systems of “our world” are, it’s nice to kind of immerse myself in the knowledge and debates among those who study the systems of the universe.
As with politics, I think with spirituality, people become stuck on what they “believe” instead of remaining open and curious. We grow, not by being certain, but by being willing to reach beyond our current understanding.
And, it’s interesting to note. that as was the case with my recent politic journey, my current lessons in Astrology are requiring me to investigate what I thought I knew by consulting more reliable historical data and patterns rather than relying on what I was told by the popular experts I consulted in previous decades.
As I said in yesterday’s poem, “Retrograde” sometimes we have to go back before we can move forward. That poem was also inspired by the fact that Mars is currently in Retrograde. I won’t pretend to be an expert on exactly what that means but I know I am enjoying learning about it and also that it has the David Bowie song, “Life on Mars?” playing on repeat in my head. As far as earworms go, that’s not a bad one.
This is where I bid a temporary adieu to my free subscribers but remember that if you’re curious about what you’re missing, there’s always the 7 day free trial offer below.
